Terms of Service

1. The service

Kami Academy is a web-based platform that helps schools manage admissions, student and guardian records, classes, attendance, the academic calendar, fees and related school administration.

Schools subscribe under a separate order or agreement with KamiKode (the "Agreement"). If the Agreement and these terms differ, the Agreement prevails.

2. Accounts

There is no public sign-up. KamiKode creates each school's account, and the school's administrators create accounts for staff, students and guardians.

Keep your password confidential and tell your school or us at once if you suspect someone else has used your account. The school is responsible for the accounts it creates and for activity under them.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Kami Academy for anything unlawful, or to harm students, families or staff;
• access data you are not authorized to see, or try to bypass roles, permissions or security measures;
• upload malicious code, overload the service or interfere with its operation;
• copy, resell or reverse engineer the platform, except where the law allows it.

4. School data

The school owns the data it and its users enter into Kami Academy ("School Data"). The school is responsible for having a lawful basis to collect it and for informing students and families.

The school grants KamiKode the right to host, process and back up School Data only to provide, secure and support the service. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Fees and payment

Fees, billing periods and payment terms are set out in the Agreement or invoice. Unless stated otherwise, fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.

If an invoice remains unpaid after a written reminder, we may suspend access until it is settled.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep Kami Academy available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may carry out maintenance and will try to schedule it outside school hours.

We improve the platform over time and may change or retire features. We will not remove a core function the school relies on during a paid period without reasonable notice.

7. Intellectual property

Kami Academy, its software, design and brand belong to KamiKode. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service while the school's subscription is active. They do not transfer any ownership.

8. Suspension and termination

A school may stop using Kami Academy as set out in its Agreement. We may suspend or end access for a serious breach of these terms, after notice where reasonable.

When a subscription ends, the school may ask for an export of its School Data within 30 days. After that period we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by Lebanese law, KamiKode is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost data that could have been avoided by the school's own records. Our total liability under these terms is limited to the fees the school paid for the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence or anything that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with its date and, for material changes, notify schools in advance. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. The courts of Beirut have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights.
