Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how KamiKode, Beirut, Lebanon handles personal data in Kami Academy and on this website, in line with Lebanese Law No. 81 of 2018 on Electronic Transactions and Personal Data.
1. Who is responsible
For data a school enters into Kami Academy about its students, guardians and staff, the school decides why and how that data is used. KamiKode processes it on the school's behalf and following its instructions. For questions about that data, contact the school first.
For data about visitors to this website and people who request a demo, KamiKode is responsible.
2. What we collect
- School records entered by the school: names, dates of birth, contact details, guardians and their relationship to the student, class and enrollment, attendance, admission applications, fees and payments, and staff records.
- Account data: name, email address, role and sign-in activity.
- Demo requests: the name, email and school name you send us.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and security logs, used to run and protect the service.
3. Why we use it
- To provide Kami Academy to the school under its agreement with us.
- To keep accounts and data secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To answer demo requests and support questions.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data, show advertising in Kami Academy or use school data to profile students for marketing.
4. Children's data
Kami Academy holds data about students, many of whom are minors. Schools enter that data and are responsible for informing families and obtaining any consent the law requires. A student's account, if the school creates one, shows only that student's own information.
5. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the service, and they process data only for that purpose: Google Firebase for secure sign-in, Cloudflare for website hosting and bot protection, and cloud hosting providers for the application and its database. Some of them may process data outside Lebanon, with safeguards appropriate to the data.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser stores only what the service needs: your sign-in session, your language and theme choices and the school you are working in. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to block automated abuse.
7. How long we keep data
School data is kept while the school's subscription is active. When it ends, the school can export its data within 30 days, after which we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Demo requests are kept for up to 12 months if no subscription follows.
8. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access is limited by role, so each person sees only what their role allows, and changes to school records are recorded in an audit log.
9. Your rights
Under Lebanese law you may ask to access your personal data, correct it, or object to its processing for legitimate reasons. For school records, send your request to the school. For anything else, or if the school cannot help, write to info@kamikode.com. We reply within 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any update on this page with its date and tell schools about material changes in advance.
